District Freight Plans

Freight Plan

Providing more detailed analysis of freight needs and trends.

In early 2018, MnDOT adopted the Statewide Freight System and Investment Plan. The purpose of the plan is to inform and administer the vision and overall direction of freight transportation across the state. A next step to do this is the development of district-level freight plans.

The district-level plans will provide more detailed analysis of freight needs and trends. They will identify projects that will benefit freight movement within each MnDOT District and provide information useful to the statewide plan in the future. District plans will begin with MnDOT District 1, Northeastern Minnesota, which is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2018.
