Connected and Automated Vehicle Strategic Plan

Strategies for engaging policy makers and the public to shape laws and adjust for changing infrastructure needs

In the Statewide Multimodal Transportation Plan, MnDOT committed to studying and working with partners to prepare for connected and autonomous vehicles. Over the past year, CAV-X met with all of MnDOT’s districts, offices, and managerial groups to strategically prepare for Connected and Automated Vehicles. This plan includes 65 recommendations to guide infrastructure investments, prioritize research, build partnerships, modernize policy and regulation, mitigate operation and maintenance challenges, prepare our workforce, and engage our stakeholders on CAV.
